In the Old Town the insurgents repel German attacks on the Bank of Poland, Simons' Passage, the Town Hall and the Blank Palace. Under the pressure of German fire the partisans are forced to withdraw from Saint John of God Hospital.
The Polish soldiers also counter enemy attacks on Miodowa, Podwale, Piwna and Świętojańska Streets. They, however, have to leave the ruins of the "Quebracho" factory on Boleść Street.
Struggles with the enemy on the floors of the Polish Security Printing Works last all day and all night.
The Germans erect a barricade across the central nave of the Cathedral. In the evening, the insurgents manage to force the enemy out of the nave and the sacristy, but the Germans still occupy the galleries.
Stukas shower the Old Town with dozens of bombs. The tenement house at 16 Freta Street collapses in one of those attacks. Many people lose their lives under the debris, including the People's Army staff of the Warsaw District: Major Bolesław Kowalski "Ryszard" - the commander of the People's Army District of Warsaw, Captain Edward Lanota "Edward" - Chief of Staff of the District of Warsaw, Major Stanisław Nowicki "Felek" - chief propagandist and editor-in-chief of the "People's Army" magazine, Lieutenant Anatol Matywiecki "Natek" - quartermaster, Captain Stanisław Kurland "Zenek Krzemiński".
A failed attempt at breaking the German encirclement of the Łazienki (Royal Baths) Park undertaken by the troops from Mokotów.
At night, the insurgents capture the Monastery of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth on Czerniakowska Street and evacuate all the nuns, wounded soldiers and civilians remaining in the sisters' care.
A new battalion - "Oaza" ("Oasis") under the command of Captain Jacek Wyszogrodzki "Janusz" is formed in Sadyba.
