In Czerniaków - strong German attack along Wilanowska and Zagórna Streets. Supported by planes and artillery, the enemy captures a few houses on Idźkowskiego, Zagórna and Solec Streets.
It is with utmost difficulty that the insurgents and soldiers of the Polish First Army maintain a section of the coast in the area of Zagórna and Wilanowska Streets.

Lieutenant Colonel Jan Mazurkiewicz "Radosław" begins a partial evacuation of his troops through the sewers to Mokotów.

In the afternoon, under the cover of a smoke screen and with artillery support, nearly 1000 soldiers from the 1st and 2nd battalions of the 8th Infantry Regiment of the Polish People's Army set off from Praga to North Powiśle.
They capture the area of Wybrzeże Kościuszkowskie (Kościuszko Coast) between Poniatowski Bridge and the railway bridge and reach Solec Street, but a very strong German counterattack makes it impossible for them to join the insurgent forces located on Wilanowska Street.

On the night of 19 and 20 September, a group of officers from Mokotów with a letter from General Antoni Chruściel "Monter" ("Assembler") requesting radio contact makes it through to the command of the Polish First Army.

The command of the 2nd Infantry Division of the Polish People's Army sends a telegram to the Commander of the Sub-district II of Żoliborz with a promise of help. The promise is the result of bottom-up pressure of Polish soldiers, standing idly by on the other side of the Vistula River.

Soviet planes bomb the German positions at Flakkaserne and in Pole Mokotowskie (Mokotów Field).
