Jana Pawła II street number 22 at the corner of Grzybowska street. On the wall of the Mercure Fryderyk Chopin hotel at the site of Jan Paweł II Avenue there is a plaque with the information of soldiers from the Home Army unit "Chrobry II" who fought there.
In the year 2013 the hotel was knocked down. In June 2013 at this place the construction of a modern office centre Q22 was started off. The 155-meter-high building was completed in December 2016.
In front of the building Q22, at the site of Jan Paweł II Avenue, the plaque (having been replaced from the "Mercure" hotel) was put, with the following inscription:
At this area, in the years 1942-194, in the factory "Konrad-Jarnuszkiewicz", there existed the secret manufactory of machine guns called "Polski Sten", initiated by the Home Army second lieutenant Józef Kapler and 26 staff members - the Home Army soldiers.
During the Warsaw Uprising 1944 the Home Army soldiers from the unit "Chrobry", chiefly the company led by second lieutenant "Jeremi" defended the approach to the City Centre in a heroic way.
Paying tribune - friends, the Home Army soldiers.
