Wiersze. There is a monument and some plaques describing the battles that took part in this region.

During the Warsaw Uprising the 3500 strong "Kampinos" group of the AK (Home Army) stationed in Wiersze came to Warsaw's help, fighting for the Bielanski Airport and the Dworzec Gdanski (Gdanski Railway Station). The region of the Kampinoski Forest occupied by insurgents in August and September 1944 was called Rzeczpospolita Kampinoska (the Kampinos Republic).
