Skalbmierska 7 - Bielany district
The mural is situated on the back side of the garage walls next to the building in 7 Skalbmierska street in the "Piechotkowo" housing estate. This area belongs to Stare Bielany district, being between Aleja Rejmonta and the following streets: Żeromskiego, Przybyszewskiego and Schroedera.
The housing estate was designed in the 1950s by the architects Maria and Kazimierz Piechotka, the graduates of the Warsaw University of Technology, the Architecture department. Both were fighting in the Warsaw Uprising. Kazimierz was a soldier of the "Agaton" platoon of the Home Army "Pięść" battalion, whereas his wife-to-be was a liaison oficer. After the Uprising they both were transported to the POW camp Stalag IV B Mühlberg.
The idea of painting the mural dedicated to the married couple came from the inhabitants thanks to the meetings about the projects funded by the participation budget.
