The photo report of participation of SPPW 1944 members in the celebration of the 74th Warsaw Uprising anniversary - 2018
Members of the 1944 Warsaw Uprising Remembrance Association participated in the most important events connected with the celebration of the 74th Warsaw Uprising anniversary. They laid flowers in the particular places of solemnities.
On July 28 the member of the SPPW 1944 Board, Mr. Piotr Śmiłowicz, took part in the 28th Run of the Warsaw Uprising. Mrs. Izabela Białecka sang insurgent songs during the ceremony that followed the run.
On July 29 the Association Chairman Mr. Maciej Białecki laid a bunch of flowers by the plaque of the Home Army District "Żywiciel".
The Chairman and his assistants Mrs. Maria Poprawa and Mrs. Barbara Rumianek participated in the celebration in the Krasiński Square on July 31.
The Association member Mr. Andrzej Gałązka took part in a ceremony by the plaque in memory of General Antoni Chruściel a.k.a. "Montera", while Mrs. Ewa Furmańska and Mr. Piotr Śmiłowicz laid a bunch of flowers by the monument "Fighting Mokotów 1944".
On the same day both laid flowers by the monument in honour of General Stefan Rowecki a.k.a. "Grot" and by the Monument of the Polish Underground State and the Home Army.
In the evening of August 1 the Chairman Mr. Maciej Białecki, the Vice-chairman Mrs. Maria Poprawa, the member of the Board Mr. Piotr Śmiłowicz and the Association member Mrs. Janina Mańkowska participated in the ceremony at the Wola Cemetery, while the Association member Mr. Michał Wdowiak took part in the ceremony on the Warsaw Uprising Hill.
The Association member Ms. Monika Ałasa annually arrives from Lublin to honour the Warsaw Insurgents
by laying flowers and lighting candles on their graves at the Powązki Military Cemetery. This year she did it, as well.
The evening of August 1 Monika spent at the Piłsudski Square where she attended a moving concert "Warsaw people sing (not) forbidden songs". Her presence proves that not only Warsaw people do it.
On August 2 Monika was sightseeing the Żoliborz memory places. Then she was happy to once more visit the Warsaw Uprising Museum, where she lit a candle by the plaque in honour of late President Lech Kaczyński, the Founder of the Museum.
On August 5, Mrs. Maria Poprawa laid a bunch of flowers by the plaque commemorating acquiring the "Gęsiówka" concentration camp by the "Zośka" battalion.
In the afternoon Mr. Maciej Białecki together with the Association members Mrs. Joanna Runge-Lisowska and Mrs. Monika Lurie took part in ceremonies by the monument of the Wola Manslaughter's Casualties.
On August 6 Mrs. Sebastian Woźniak was present at the Holy Mass in the St. Peter and St. Paul church in Pęcice.
On August 13 Mrs. Maria Poprawa and Mrs. Joanna Runge-Lisowska participated in the ceremony at the place of the tank explosion in the Kiliński street.
On August 22 Mr. Piotr Śmiłowicz laid a bunch of flowers by the plaque in the "Polonia" stadium.
On September 21 the associate chairman Mrs. Maria Poprawa participated in the ceremony by the Home Army "Obroża" Insurgents' Quarters at the Tarchomin Cemetery in the 54 Mehoffer street in Białołęka.
On October 2 Mrs. Halina Grabowska, Mrs. Maria Poprawa and Mrs. Iwona Rusek took part in the ceremony on the Warsaw Uprising Hill.
