The photo report of participation of SPPW 1944 members in the celebration of the 79th Warsaw Uprising anniversary - 2023
Let us confirm that the members of the 1944 Warsaw Uprising Remembrance Association participated in the year 2023 in the most important events connected with the celebration of the 79th Warsaw Uprising anniversary. They laid wreaths or bunches of flowers in numerous ceremony places.
On July 30, the Association Board member Mr. Franciszek Cepek participated in the solemnity by the Insurgents' monument in Pęcice. It was also the 57th expedition "On a gravel road".
On July 31, the Association Chairman Mr. Maciej Białecki, the Vice-Chairman Mrs. Maria Poprawa and the Audit Board Chairman Mrs. Irena Sikora-Chmielewska participated in the solemnity in the Krasiński Square.
On August 1, the Association Registrar Mr. Piotr Śmiłowicz, the Audit Board Chairman Mrs. Irena Sikora-Chmielewska and the Association member Mrs. Maria Tulo-Dziwulska laid bunches of flowers by the monument "Fighting Mokotów 1944",
and by the memorial monument of the fallen Home Army soldiers in Dworkowa street.
On August 1, Mrs. Maria Poprawa laid flowers by the monument "for the Women of the Warsaw Uprising" next to the Krasiński Garden.
Afterwards, Mrs. Maria Poprawa laid flowers by the monument of General Zbigniew Ścibor-Rylski a.k.a. "Motyl" in the Marshall Edward Rydz-Śmigły park, in the Czerniaków district.
On August 1, Mr. Piotr Śmiłowicz laid a bunch of flowers by the monument of General Stefan Rowecki a.k.a. "Grot",
as well as by the monument of the Polish Underground State and the Home Army.
In the evening of August 1, the Chairman Mr. Maciej Białecki, the Vice-Chairman Mrs. Maria Poprawa and the Registrar Mr. Piotr Śmiłowicz took part in the solemnity in the Warsaw Insurgents' Cemetery in the Wola district.
On August 5, the Association Board member Mrs. Iwona Rusek laid a bunch of flowers by the plaque commemorating acquiring the "Gęsiówka" concentration camp by the Home Army "Zośka" battalion.
The same afternoon, Mr. Maciej Białecki and Mr. Piotr Śmiłowicz took part in ceremonies by the monument of the Wola Manslaughter's Casualties.
On August 13, the Association member Mr. Zbigniew Juszkiewicz participated in the ceremony at the place of the trap-tank explosion in Kiliński street.
On August 22, Mr. Piotr Śmiłowicz laid a bunch of flowers by the plaque in the "Polonia" stadium.
On September 3, Mr. Maciej Białecki laid flowers by the monument of Insurgent Special Units "Jerzyki" in a town of Pociecha, Kampinos Forest.
On September 21, Mrs. Maria Poprawa joined the ceremony in the Home Army "Obroża" Insurgent Quarter in the Tarchomin Cemetery in Mehoffer street in the Białołęka district.
On September 23, Mr. Maciej Białecki, Mrs. Bogna Galperyn and Mrs. Irena Sikora-Chmielewska laid flowers by the plaque in memory of Zbigniew Galperyn a.k.a. "Antek" in 22 Długa street.
On September 30, Mr. Franciszek Cepek participated in the 79th Memorial Day of the Dulag 121 Camp Prisoners, by the monument "That way Warsaw went by".
On October 2, Mrs. Maria Poprawa, accompanied by several students of the school she works in, participated in the solemn end of celebration of the Warsaw Uprising 79th anniversary that took place by the monument "Fighting Mokotów 1944" in the General Gustaw Orlicz-Dreszer park in the Mokotów district.
In keeping with her annual tradition, Ms. Monika Ałasa, our Association member and a voluntary interpretor, came from Lublin to Warsaw to join the anniversary solemnities.
She was following the paths of Żoliborz - Ochota - Wola and Śródmieście.
The Association SPPW 1944 members took part as individuals in many other events that had been organized to honour the 79th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising 1944.
