The photo report of the Ceremony in the European House in the Diocletian's Palace in Split (Croatia)

As part of the commemoration of the 70th Warsaw Uprising anniversary the Polish Culture Association "Polonez" in Croatia with co-operation of the Polish Embassy in Zagreb and the Warsaw Uprising Museum in Warsaw organized the solemnity in the European House in the Diocletian's Palace in Split. The exact date of the event was April 11, 2014.

A beautiful room of the Diocletian's Palace was the place of the exhibition of photographs taken during the Warsaw Uprising 1944.
As part of the celebration Mrs. Barbara Figurniak, a member of our Association, performed the musical versions of the poems by Krzysztof Kamil Baczyński as well as another Warsaw insurgent Lt Sławomir Pocztarski a.k.a. "Bóbr". Music was composed by Mr. Mateusz Jarosz.

The performance by Mrs. Barbara Figurniak consisted of six songs and short pieces of information about the Warsaw Uprising and its participants, i.e. Krzysztof Kamil Baczyński and Lt Sławomir Pocztarski a.k.a. "Bóbr".

Their poems heard in a musical form made the Polish and Croatian audience utterly moved.
After the concert both Consuls, the representatives of the Polish Culture Association "Polonez" and numerous auditors congratulated the artists.
Afterwards, the gathered guests were chatting informally while having refreshments.

The Chairman of the Polish Culture Association "Polonez" Mrs. Ewa Kaštelan stated as follows, "We thank you for this moving concert. The Croatian people, despite not having understood the content of Baczyński's poety, were visibly moved. HVALA! (Thank you!)".
