In the district of Praga, after a few days of fights with experienced frontal German forces, all the mobilized insurgent troops went back into conspiracy on August 3 and 4, following the Home Army command's order.
Some Home Army soldiers managed to get across to the left bank of the Vistula River in the area of Czerniaków and the Kampinos Forest, reinforcing the troops operating there.
In the first days of the Uprising, the German forces focused their military efforts on two districts: Wola and Ochota, successively eliminating the pockets of insurgent resistance in those areas.
