21a Chełmska Street. The St. Casimir church.
The church was consecrated in the year 1934.
During the siege of Warsaw in September 1939 a part of the roof and the church interior were both damaged. During the Warsaw Uprising the church building served the district's dwellers as a shelter against fire; because of one of bombings it was severely damaged.
Not late than in January 1945 the reconstruction of the church began and it lasted several years.
On the wall of the church entrance there is a plaque commemorating the scouts of 55th Warsaw Troop from the primary school number 115 in the Chełmska street number 19 who were murdered by the Gestapo.
